Why image size matters
Large images can slow pages, fail upload requirements, or appear cropped in the wrong place. Resizing creates a cleaner file that fits the exact place where the image will be used.
Step-by-step resize process
1. Upload one or more images
Open the resize tool and add your images. For batch work, select multiple files and apply the same resize settings to all of them.
2. Choose a resize mode
Use custom size when you know the exact width and height. Use percentage mode when you want to scale the image down evenly without calculating pixel dimensions.
3. Keep aspect ratio on
For most photos and graphics, keep aspect ratio enabled so the image does not stretch. Turn it off only when you intentionally need a fixed shape.
4. Set the output dimensions
Enter the width and height in pixels. For web pages, smaller dimensions usually load faster. For print or documents, make sure the image remains large enough to stay clear.
5. Apply and download
Apply the settings, review the output size, and download the resized image or ZIP file if multiple images were processed.
Practical tips
Do not enlarge small images too much because they can look soft. For websites, resize images close to their display size. For thumbnails, prioritize clear subjects and simple framing.

For blog images, start with the actual width used by your page layout. For profile pictures, square dimensions keep the subject consistent across platforms. For documents and forms, keep text readable rather than chasing the smallest possible dimensions.
Batch resizing notes
Batch resizing works best when images have a similar purpose. Product photos, gallery images, and thumbnails can usually share one size. Mixed images may need separate passes so vertical and horizontal files keep a clean composition.
